This is what we are working on at the moment:
- Each class has had an election and has chosen a representative for their class.
- The school council will recognise that they are leaders and will act like leaders for you.
- Our school council representatives wear our badges in order to be always identifiable.
- We have a school council display to promote the school council and our messages.
- We attend school council meetings and keep notes on the points raised and discussed, including monitoring attendance and school uniform.
- We will deliver regular assemblies to highlight issues and remind the children of the work of the school council.
- Our school council page has been added to the school’s website.
- We will be writing a newsletter to be written regularly to share updates and news with the pupils, staff and parents.
- Each class can have a weekly class council in their classes, contributing to pupil voice across the school and to the ongoing improvement of the school.
- There will be a location and a rota for a school council lunchtime stall in order to provide the pupils with an outlet for their views, ideas and opinions daily, recorded in suggestion books.
- We will meet with the Board of Governors to feedback pupil voice, ideas and concerns.
- We will contribute to the work of the school on ensuring a safe environment for the children, for example: anti-bullying work, online safety, reporting concerns.
- Our school council will decide on a charity to support each term and organise events to promote the charity and the work that it carries out.
- We will be seeking your ideas for charities we could help.
- Our school council will seek out opportunities to support the local area through community activities (e.g. litter pick, recycling initiatives and competitions).
- Our school council will be acting as buddies to the KS1 pupils during break times.
- We are going to need your help to fundraise for our school, we will be using lots of ideas to fundraise this year.
